Default Rear Spoiler

I am fitting a rear Carrera spoiler to my 1987 911 yet there is a gap from the lid to the spoiler, anyone have any ideas on why this isnt fitting flush?

Note i did purchase this spoiler 2nd hand from another owner.

See attached photos

Thanks for your feedback Iceman, i am getting other say the same thing. This gives me the confidence to go ahead and button it down the best i can. Quite strange that such an important aerodynamic part doesnt fit more precisely.

Looks great on the car and completes the G series look i wanted.

Onto Recaro's next.

yeah i kind of glued the rubber seal on with heavy duty weather-stripping glue and it looked fine. That was 12 years ago now and its due again. bigger issue is making sure its tight and doesnt rub the paint .

That is great you have got 12 years out of it, and even better you have had the car that long.

I also used the weather strip as advised. Lets see how long mine lasts

Ive had my car since 2005, and do all my own work including rebuilding the engine, so its not one i will give up easily knowing it so well...

..and someone else in my family seems to have eyes on it. lol

Can totally understand that, the car must give you great confidence mechanically and tremendous satisfaction that you have put in the work. I wish i had the space to work more on mine and skill set. Something to work on for the future.

Looks like this one is one is staying in the family for a few more years yet, brilliant!

Just checked the weather there in Ontario, any chance for a Christmas cruise in the 911?

It's pretty normal, considering the age, unless it was supposed to have been refurbished. Mine has gaps as well, never even noticed them! lol
