Default 80 SC, I almost have heat!

All: Our recently adopted 80 SC had the AC and heater equipment removed at some point. Most likely after some major engine work. Most of the parts were included and I really would like to have heat, there are still some nice driving days on the North Coast before the salt trucks ruin the roads. I was cruising along nicely and gathered the parts that were missing. Then I ran into a jam, literally. As you can see in the photo there's an oil line blocking access for the hose that runs from the rich side HE to the blower. Am I correct in thinking this oil line was part of the tensioner upgrade/retrofit?
If so what have others done to restore the heater hose in this position? Can I rotate the oil line connector at the head? Or will the tin need to be modified? Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,Rob

It goes up and over the tensioner line and fitting. Some slight bending of the hot air pipe does the trick.

Default Heater pipe

Thanks, I'm really going to have to smoosh it quite a bit . Can that oil line fitting be loosened and rotated at all? I just changed the oil but have not yet run the engine. I'm thinking it would be a good time to try that if it's possible. Looks like there may be a couple of crush washers there.

The oil line doesn't really move and you don't want to damage it.

Feed the tube straight up to the length you need to reach the connection on top, then fold over the oil line to see where the indent needs to go. It's partly a dent and partly making it oval.

Thanks for the pic Torch. I'll wrestle with it tomorrow and see if we can come to an agreement.

yeah your angle of attack is wrong, it may need to be addressed from underneath the car, has it been modified at all as far as exhaust goes? This may be why the angle is wrong. I struggled with this a bit too when i added SSIs

Default Heat!

Fellas: Thanks for the advice and encouragement, all hoses are in and connected. Not sure why they pulled the heat, A/C sure, but heat? I, Ohio?
Safe travels.
Rob
