Default 1971 911 Suspension Question

Hey all,

Looking for any suggestions on my current restoration project.

I am currently swapping the suspension in one of our 911s (1971 or so), and I have been stuck on getting the torsion bars out, they came out of the inner part of the car, but the rubber bushing and arm side are stuck onto the torsion bar. So I have not been able to get them off the car. I have tried numerous things, pry bar, hammer and fire... They still are stuck. Has anyone come across this? Any suggestions?

Thanks!!
Jack

To get the torsion bar off the spring plate, drill a hole: https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...l=1#post339772
To remove the bushing: Box cutter. Slice it along the axis of the bar, and run the blade around the back of the bushing where it meets the spring plate.

generously spray some break free fluid behind the spring plate, cut off the rubber bushing, put the free tb back in its place and try to wiggle the outside tb end (this has worked for me before, but on g models). Worst case, an angle cutter.
