Weight of 78 911SC?
Any idea on stock weight of euro 1978 911SC, no sunroof, manual windows?
What about if I remove the spare, ventilations system, air con system, complete back seat and all carpeting, interior soundproofing, replace front bumper, fenders, hood, rear deck and bumper with fiberglass 73 RS versions. The car already has SSI, no cats. Any idea on how much weight I would save?
Obviously, I'm trying to recreate a 73RS, trying to figure out if a stock 3.0SC engine with free exhaust and webers will be quick enough with the lighten chasiss.

My '76 with sunroof, AC and manual everything else weighed in at the Glen with a full tank @ 2,650 Lb. I guess an SC should be about 100# heavier?
Define 'quick enough'?

Excellent, with the weight reduction program I should be able to get the car under 2350lbs and HP close to 200. I trust that would make it a fun driver.

You can get alot of weight out of these cars depending on your priorities. I have a 79 sunroof/power windows car with a tail and a full cage, all steel body, full upholstery and factory glass. I have to keep the tank full to make minimum weight of 2552 lbs.
Big hitters are seats, crashbumbers, a/c, stereo equipment, and exhaust. Use light forged wheels (Fuchs are fine)
If you go nuts and replace all glass with plexi. Fiberglass fenders, hood, engine cover etc... probably get around 2400 even with a rollbar.
