My Simple Street Car Build 87’ Carrera
What started about a decade ago. Was my LOVE for these vintage old Porsches. I’m sure like the rest of you reading this, if we had an ability to see the future we we’ve bought up every single one we could LOL.
Fast forward a decade, I parted with a water cooled car I didn’t love and said screw it and went on the hunt for the right car. Criteria was simple
- 1987-89
-Running & Driving
Color and condition wasn’t too big of an issue for me since I know I’d be yanking the drivetrain, painting and doing interior. One night while sitting at home, I refreshed the classifieds and saw the perfect car in Colorado. I believe I sent deposit with in 11 mins and was on a one way flight with my very good friend Andy who owns Speed & Suspension which is directly next door to LN engineering.
The goal of this car is simple. Make a kickass year round daily driver, I buy cars to stack miles and make memories with family and friends.
3.5 Twin Plug
ITB’s
motec
freshen up interior
paint the car GT Silver
Here it is in the flesh. All 191,000 miles and leaking oil! We drive 14 hours straight and it ran like a top. Owner couldn’t have represented any better and a pleasure to do business with.
Nebraska highway patrol wanted to hand out a compliment and his love for AC porsches at 2AM
Made it safely back to my shop after 1100 miles. Tired but couldn’t be more excited!!
Mandatory first passenger in all my new car purchases.
Enjoying all 200 horsepower this 3.2 has!
Attended Overcrest rally in Utah
Running like a champ in the desert and elevation
Utah sheriff , also simply sharing his love for AC porsches.....
Continental divide
10k miles in 4 months and there wasn’t a single issue. Drivetrain being lowered out.
As you can see it liked to leak from about anywhere there was a gasket.
I elected to go with my close friends to build this engine.
-LN Engineering
-Werner Machine
-Speed & Suspension (install)
Goodies from LN/ Carrillo, Mahle Waldemar of Werner machine being a Veteran of this industry suggested we start getting parts MONTHS in advance. Which payed dividends that once assembly time came it was seamless.
Nickies in all their glory
Jenvey ITB’s
Pure Art
Werner is known for their porting. They did the twin plug conversion and then ported.
We couldn’t eave the ITB’s alone once we saw how the heads came out.
Functional art being made.
My friends at LN Engineering making us a prototype of covers. We’ll work closely with them to make this PERFECT if need be. Vast improvement from the stock covers and gaskets. Charles and team THANK YOU!
Assembly Time
One of the most humble guys in this industry, being a master at work!
This is where we end for now. Install will be happening end of next week so we can make measurements for the wiring harness so we can make everything communicate. Thanks for reading this VERY long winded thread, check back for updates!
