Default Tire Specs.??

What is the limit in fitting my 1988 911 cabriolet with new tires and wheels/
Can I go to a 17" wheel without clearance issues?
Currently runnig with 16" Fuchs, 205/55 front and 225/50 rear.
Would like to push the limit without ANY need for spacers, modifications etc.

If you purchase wheels with the correct offsets, you can can run 17s even 18s. 17s offer a more comfortable fit in the wheel wells. If you autox or track the car don't buy anything over 17s. Tire sizes of 225 front and 255 rear. Do your home work well on wheel fitment before buying. You don't want the tires to scrub or geometry to change. Tire rack sells Mille Miglia, Turbo Twist with the correct fit. RH has some awesome 18" three piece centerline wheels (I have these on my 87' Carrera), GREAT for the road. They say they will be producing a 17" version soon.
