I'm looking at installing a high-mounted interior 3rd brake light inside my '85 Targa to protect against inattentive SUV-types.
Anyone know how the interior trim on the Targa bar is removed? I was thinking that I would remove it and hide the wires underneath as they snake toward the rear firewall and out to the left brake light, but I can't see how the thing is held in place.
If all else fails, I suppose I could kind of stuff the wires under the trim, but would like to make this look as 'factory' as possible (and lessen the risk that rear seat passengers (smaller persons) would see a wire and tug on it.
Also, any thoughts on what gauge wire to run? I was thinking 14-18 would be sufficient.
