Had my original Fuchs reconditioned by Harvey Weidman. Harvey gave me the complete run down on reconditioning the Fuchs to OE specs. The man knows his Fuchs!

I'll let these guys know that then. Although they are not known to be amateurs...

No paint is also true for the ball surface on the lug nuts that mates with the wheel. The concern is that you don't want to mess with the friction surface between the wheel and the nut, as it can affect torque specs and cause the nuts to loosen.
I don't know how likely that is to happen, but that's the argument for no paint.
Don't worry the paint in the lug nut holes will be gone after a few removals / reinstalls, and those Ti nuts don't have any paint :^)
Thanks.
I chose to go with Fuchs Restoration because they do good work at a fair price, and their turnaround times are reasonable. I'm aware of Harvey Weidman of course and using him would have been an option. However, the word I've gotten is that the wait time is nearly a year. I don't have time for that. (My wheels were completed in two weeks.)
The anodization restoration work on my wheels is great. Paintwork - also great. If the lug seats have paint on them - ok, that's one "nit to pick" I guess.
Your comment Torch is what I was thinking also - a few uses and it's no longer an issue.
