Question Headlights are out!

I turned on my headlights this morning and they did not come on. On further investigation it seems both the low beam headlights and the fog lights are not working. The parking lights and high beams are working. All fuses are fine so I think it is the turn signal / high - low beam switch.

Anyone know how I can confirm this?

Thanks for your help

Over-voltage....replace the voltage regulator.

I put a new alternator on the car about 18k ago and at that time you could see several things happening to show the regulator issue. The only thing that is happening now is that the lights are not working. I do not think they are blow out, just no low beam and the high beams are working fine. Based on that I do not see it be a voltage issue.

I think it could be the switch, but it usually effects the high beam side I seem to remember from experience. Pull the switch and test for current on the low beam side of the switch.

I have exactly the same symptoms on my 83 SC. Good thing the H4s aren't as bright as modern HIDs...I only got flashed a couple of times tonight by oncoming traffic!

I also noticed that on my car, if I pull the high beam stalk (i.e. flash to pass mode), the fogs come on with the high beams...weird. Have you pulled your switch yet, or found the problem if it wasn't the switch?

I install a new signal light /high beam switch and mine started working again. It is not to hard. You do need to take the headlight switch out. I would connect the wires from the high beam switch to the head light switchone at a time so you do not lose track of where they go.

Good luck
