Default Total oil

1987 Carrera. Just had filter and oil change service at my long-time independent wrench. Have mostly used Castrol oil in the past but this time Total oil was used as the inhouse oil. I never heard of Total oil - supposed to be French. Anyone heard of this oil? Comments?

Yes, large multinational company out of France. They have a refinery in Port Arthur Texas. I think we did a project for them years ago. You should be ok until your next oil change.

Yes , well known French oil company, i believe they're in F1 ... They're also the spec oil for the Canadian Nissan Micra/ Sentra Cup series.
I've tried their 10w60 oil in my944, no issues but i stuck with Amsoil due to the preferred customer discount !

Cheers
Phil
