Default G-Model option codes

Hello all.

I have a doubt and I hope some one help me to clarify it.

Recently I bought a 1974 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI (ROW), in the bill of sell has listed all configuration options and there is one that catch my attention, that is the “Option 467” that means “Outside mirror, driver’s side”, the question for all you is the following:

Why there was an option to chose, buy and pay something that all cars had included? What does that option really means?

Thank you in advance!
Regards

I don’t think the option is mirror or no mirror. Option 467 is a convex mirror that was electrically heated and adjustable. My guess is without this option you got a non-heated manually adjustable mirror. Several photos I’ve seen of this model year show purely manual mirrors. Is yours heated and adjustable using a switch?

Kindel’s decoder agrees with the above.

Default Option 467

Hello Jalvani:

Books shows that the option M467 meaning is just what are you saying, you are right, but this car was ordered in august 1973 and produced in October 1973, the convex and heated mirror didn't exist when this car was ordered and configured, I am really confused with this.

Regards

Pancho, your mirrors are manual and non-heated? Porsche’s reuse of option codes makes this extra confusing.

Same question I asked. No reply.

It would explain a lot. As Porsche transitions model years, option codes are often available to the dealership before the general public. Some are not even in my options book although they appear on the cars’ option stickers.
