Default Electrical Problem

Hi all,

I was just driving home from purchasing my 87 930 turbo, and was playing with all the switches and *****. I pushed the headlight washer button and heard the motor whir and the windshield wipers came on. The problem was they didn't stop. With the key turned off, the wipers turned off but the washer motor continued to run. I disconected the washer motor, and this stopped that, but the wipers continued to run with the key on. I finally took the wipers off for the rest of the ride home. I tried pulling every fuse in the box to see if I could get it to stop with no luck. I pulled the switch out of the dash and disconnected it, also with no luck. The windshield wiper switch (on the steering column) seems to work OK it just doesn't shut off the wipers. I am stumped by this problem. Anyone have this happen to them, or any ideas.

You pushed the headlight washer button and the windshield wipers came on? That's weird - I'm looking at Bentley and those should be independent circuits. Fuse #3 should control headlight washer, #7 the windshield wiper. Looks like you have a "headlight cleaner control unit" - maybe that needs a love tap. Windhield wipers don't have a relay, so maybe the switch is broken.

BTW - it's Luftwaffe

I took the switch apart and cleaned it and this seems to have solved the problem.

BTW - my license plate says "luftwafe" instead of "luftwaffe" because I couldn't fit that many letters on the plate

LOL - didn't realize it was your license place. Great Plate!

Glad you got the thing to work and congrats on your new ride!
