FOR JOHN D.......
Mate I read your reply further up.
I for one was never aware of what you were pointing out. Specially the e-mailed comment you got.
Anyway in light of what you said all I can say is "hat's off to you my man" doing a sweet job, keep it up.
And if I was spining a tune for you it would be more like
"respect and big up ya self to the man like John..Aiiight"
But you get the point

Sorry for the delayed reply - I should have tried to keep up to date on this thread..!
Anyway - thanks to all of your for your comments, support and yep - even constructive criticisms... As you folks know - there are no Post Graduate courses on "List Moderation" or trying to build a “Cyber-community” - so like all of you, I'm learning all this "on the fly"
A couple of comments.....
First - you who commented that it's difficult to even find information about "what a Rennlist Member is" or "how one becomes a Member" - YOU ARE RIGHT!!! I guess I know the site so well - it's difficult to see it as many users do as they try to Navigate it for the first time... For that, when folks Register for this Board - there is a brief description of this site and Membership - and even a link to describe what it is... I just finished the coding for that and guess I should also add it to the Admin Announcement Section....
I *also* agree that Users/Member/Patrons are great suggestions.. There are two things I'm trying to accomplish. First (and selfishly ), not have folks confused as to whether they are "Members" or "Members" (hmmmm...). The guy who flamed me for TECH SUPPORT (in my earlier post) is a natural mistake - heck, this Forum *did* make everyone a "Member" - so he felt justified in demanding support (he probably might have been a little nicer about it tho'..!). Second - I do want those who are Members to have some distinction (a gold star, "Patron", whatever..) next to their name... Just something that differentiates these folks a bit. In the Registration form for this site - you'll see there is a block for "Your Rennlist Membership Number" - so the idea is to tie that into their profile. When it has a valid Member # - then the "Gold Star" or whatever automatically gets place next to their name.. (Yep - Viken, Roland, Bill G., etc. - are all known as users too - even though they are also "Rennlist Technical Advisors". AND, I need to figure out how to change that - so their profiles are seen differently as well..!!
To Roland's and other's comments about the "navigation" of the site - yes, I agree there as well.. We do need to see all the sites cross-linked in an easy way.. Right now - there are over 100 Rennlist Sections under 14 major categories - so I need to figure out a way to tie these together. The ultimate solution would be to have *any* section no more then "two mouse clicks" away - but to do that, I have to do another site re-design. Yep - I have to do that as well...
Anyway - thanks to all of you for your comments!!! Your feedback acts as my "barometer" as to what is both "good" and "not-so-good".. So thanks for sharing your thoughts...
To all of you - my thanks - and have a terrific weekend!

Thanks John for your thoughtfull email last night.
I know I am happy with the website here and will continue to support it as long as the price is reasonable... so I hope membership grows more to sustain this great place we have here.
Cheers!

This is a test. I am a card carrying member, so I'm curious to see what "status" I get.
Member # 000905-2059
hmmm, it says "new user" How do I get new user when I've been a paid memeber for over one year, and registered for over 2 years?

Hmmm, I think a User, Host situation as represented is more than gracious on the part of the host. Thanks.
Just as long as the host doesn't start listing non-members as:
LUSERS
Cheers,
Mrdi
