Default Transport driver gratuity

using one of the top 4-5 transport companies. Is there a flat amount of a driver gratuity that is used or is it a % of total cost?? what % 10,15,20, more??? Of course this assumes car gets to destination with no issues, pretty close on time.

Chuck, I have used a transport at least 20 times over the past 25 years. I have always tipped the driver based on distance. 3 hrs drive $100. 8 hrs drive $200. 12 hrs drive $300.

Thank you for that input, thats something a little different. I know my cost for what may be used is about 1700 for about a 20 hour drive to Atlanta.

Keep in mind, the person that drops your car off to you may not be the person that picked your car up. That's if the car is on a multiple car transporter. The loads often get split and go in different directions for the last portion of the trip. This has happened to me in the past.

As far as tipping your Driver goes...Tips are always appreciated by the Drivers. They have a lot of responsibility and take their job to heart. If you're happy with their performance and feel like tipping, they would certainly appreciate it. Doesn't always have to be monetary either. Home baked cookies work too. A sincere Thank You is always the best gratuity.

Thanks.
