Help with 82 targa rear seats
Trying to determine how the folding rear seats stay up on my 82 Targa. I got this car a month ago. The previous owner removed the small leather straps and I have no clue what parts are necessary. I see that later on they had red pull levers that would lock the seats up. Any advise?

You can make your own from some leather and a snap kit from a hardware store.
The seats should have a female snap connector on a leather strap sewn into the top of the seat on the back. Do your seats have something like this?
On my 1979, the male snap is on a leather strap that is fastened to the top screws holding the rear deck in place. Here is a photo, it is about an inch wide and 2.5 inches long.
Hope this helps,
Mark

Joe,
In case you have not already: I recommend you become familiar with this site that has the PET for all 911s:
http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p..._911_parts.php -- this is your car's PET.
It saves a lot of time when trying to figure out what is missing or how something is assembled (though often how it's assembled isn't clear from the PET, so that where others can help).

Most of the time the items are no longer available or don’t show an image. A photo some times is worth a thousand words.

Versions of those straps are available using the part number on Google -- for a price!: https://www.stoddard.com/sic52206340...c52206340.html
