Default CO emmissions test fail

My '84 Carerra just failed the CO test in CT - .75% vs. 5 max. HC and NOX were fine. I ad driven about 5 miles to the testing center so I was not very warmed up. Is there something obvious I can do to bring the CO level down ?

If the O2 sensor is working properly and you have the correct fuel pressure
and a stock chip, the CO should be way less than the limit of .5%.

And next time, make sure the engine is hot. You need to drive the car at highway speeds for a MINIMUM of 15 minutes to make sure it's at full operating temp. A fully warmed engine puts out lower emissions.
