Eeek, another Motormeister debate.
Their prices are VERY tempting, but after reading post after post about Motormeister I'd be very careful. Look through the archives here and at http://www.pelicanparts.com You might find a few answers... then again, you'll probably have to come to your own conclusions.
I'm still waiting to hear if John Walker's shop deals in "shipped" motor rebuilds.

I didn't realize the use of Motor Meister was so well discussed. After reading the archives I see there is no consensus. It seems that they are either loved or hated by those who have used them. Strange that it's that way. I figure they'd be consistently good or bad. Luckily, this is purely academic for me and hopefully my car won't need a rebuild for a long time.

I live in the Puget Sound area and have heard nice things about the John Walker Workshop as far south as Portland. I think there is also a Seattle-based engine rebuilder that takes a lot of shipped-in engines. The name was Paul Weir as I recall. Haven't heard anything about their work, but I've seen pictures of their shop which looked nice. FWIW.

jdaniel.... I am in Burlington,Vt. and have been rebuilding 911 engines for 25 years. My rates are very reasonable. It's a labor of love. If interested, email.
