Bosch part number 0 280 160 215.

There is also a Standard Motor Products FPR that has the same specs, PR71. The SMP part can be found for about $80 vs $600 for the Bosch, so it may be worth a try. I had one on my 928 and the pressures were right inline with factory.

Thank you again 76FJ55, I tried to get the part number from the right side of the car, but just couldn't see the last few digits. I'll look into the SMP part.
With regards to my car not being able to start, I found a dodgy Idle control valve. I tested it and it is not opening, it gets stuck in the closed position.
Since the part needs to be replaced, I decided to take it apart and figure out what was wrong with it.
The part had a date code of 84, which is quite a few years older than I am ! lol
I took it apart and cleaned the contacts, it is basically a motor with tabs that have carbon contacts. Looks like those carbon pads dont have much life left.
I reoriented the motor 180 degrees to the housing, and it seems to work now, however by me doing so, I assume that the part now works in the reverse order as the tabs are now oriented the other way.

I cannot seem to find the bosch part from any reputable dealer in the states.
I tried to placed an order from pelican but they say it might take 3 weeks or so.
Where do you normally get your parts from ?
For the whole life of the car we have ordered parts from pelican or our Porsche specialist has done the work for us

I have a video

I assume you just rotated the motor armature and not any part of the valve assemble? if that is the case, I would guess that rotating the motor 180 should have no effect on the operation of the valve. If the motor rotation wasn't limited by the valve itself stopping at full open or full closed, it would continue to spin and pass through the 180 position anyway. I'd put it back on and see how it performs.
