Nice looking car john. Congrats and sorry about your step-dad. Try looking over at the air cooled 911 parts for sale/wanted section of pelican parts.

https://forums.pelicanparts.com/pors...s-sale-wanted/

I check in there daily and have purchased many parts from the forum members. Just make sure you are buying from someone who is an active member for a significant period of time with a number of posts under their belt. Just remeber it's still the internet and their are always people out there who will try to take advantage of someone. The 911 technical forum is also a really great place to research and ask questions.

Cheers!

Welcome, John. Sorry about your Dad, good for you taking this on. That Minerva Blue paint job is gorgeous.

I also check Pelican regularly for bits and pieces. Want To Buy ads are notorious for attracting scammers though, so definitely be careful if you go that route. Be sure to search the Pelican history of anyone that reaches out.

Your other option are the dismantlers that are out there. DC Automotive and Einmalig (featured on a Wheeler Dealers episode) come to mind. Some parts come up often on Pelican, others less so.

Here is a thread with sources for new parts: https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...e-parts-2.html

Thank you both. I will check out Pelican. I can't wait to get started.
can you all suggest any books/manuals that will help? I bought this on on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon
I wanted to know what the mechanic in Arkansas needed me to order. It has the breakdown diagrams. I am not sure how accurate they are however.

Yes, that's probably the best manual, try to supplement that with the factory manual if you can. There is a pdf available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/07qvhojcl...x-yXPVIsa?dl=0

Unfortunately it is just the 1972-1983 version, which only covers what was different from 1965-1971. But it will be a good companion to the Bentley. I would think you also need the parts manual. That's a free download from Porsche that you can get here: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...artscatalogue/

Another book to consider is 101 Projects for Your Porsche 911. It will probably help with how things go together. You can order that from Pelican.
