Default Huntington Beach CA - PPI Needed

Hello all!

First post. I’ve been interested in owning a 911 for quite a white and decided on the 993. I found what appears to be a nice drivers car (88k miles, no accidents) and need a PPI performed at the dealership.

Does anyone have a recommendation local to that particular area? I’d like to perform some due diligence here, but would asking the selling dealership to perform a PPI based on a provided checklist be a wasted effort? Not the ideal solution obviously.

Appreciate all input - first Porsche purchase.

Autowerks is in HB. I have never used them personally but I have heard good things and always see air cooled Porsche's outside their shop when I drive by. Need to find a shop that knows air cooled.

You may want to check in with the 993 forum. Super active group on Rennlist. The key issue to examine is a history of failed smog tests. The Achilles heel of the 993 is worn valve guides causing blockage in the OBD smog system causing failed tests. Can be a nightmare to deal with - from a crazy cleaning process to a top end rebuild. I love the 993 - would like to get another one someday.

Is Fullerton too far? Aase rebuilt the motor in my 964 about 15K miles ago, and despite sitting for awhile under the PO, the car does not leak a drop from the engine.

PPI should be about $350. That's not bad.

Callas Rennsport in Torrance. Tony Callas is on the PCA Technical Committee for 993s.

Owner submitted the car to a general inspection which turned up some issues. I managed to get on the schedule with BBi. Fingers crossed!
