Default Advice on this 1981 RUF BTR

Hi guys, this 1981 RUF BTR looking very interesting to me but need some advice from you guys as I don't have a good knowledge of aircooled 911 and absolute no knowledge about RUF. I used to own a 1993 964 C2 but that's the only aircooled one I have ever owned.

1981 Porsche RUF BTR

Sweet point:
RUF modification (engine + geartbox)

Some drawback:
Body color repainted (huge drawback)
Interior trim color not matching (used to be black)

Is it a good sample? What will be the fair price for it? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Sothebys generally doesn't attach their name to bad examples. You are probably also paying a premium for that name though.

I have sold some care through Sothbey's ..... Never again. They sold their name to RM. This past fall I sold one very special car through them and that was the last straw. I was very unhappy with the whole
experience. Look through their other auctions, they sell plenty of crap, pigs with lipstick.

This RuF car is a a "bitzah" car. Little bits of this, little bits of that. Lots of non RuF bolt on parts, hodge podge of interior pieces. If this was an true unmolested BTR with 52k miles it would go for a LOT more than their top estimate. That estimate right there tells you this car is not all that.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Like you said, yes this 930 looks bit odd and all things blended together, however are we still able to source original RuF parts to replace non RuF parts?
