IMO, it depends on how fast your dad wants to sell it. Yeah you can ask $21 - 23 for it, but be prepared to sit on it until just the right person comes along, albiet that could happen in the first week as well. There are a bunch for sale. Here in SLC, there was one just offered this weekend in the paper: 1987 Wide Body Targa, original owner, 60K miles, Blk/Blk, all records, $17.5K (most of this is from memory). Here in SLC, we are also getting a couple grand more per car than the east and west coast.

Good luck!

Without seeing that '87 Targa, or knowing its condition, the asking price is meaningless. $17.5K sounds cheap for that car.

and I agree with you on this one - Although the M491 wide body Targa has got to be one of the least attractive (to me anyway, and I love Targas) of the wide body versions.

Whoa....

Todd/Jeremy - just offering some insight on a car that just came up and thought would be of interest in comparison and slammmm. In fact that car is a garage queen. I did call the owner - didn't go look at it - but he states it is in original and perfect condition and has all records with all service being done by the local P-dealer.

Geeze guys, back off a bit...

I really don't expect you to fly out to the greatest snow on earth, but you may also miss a great deal if you were interested in that model of P-car..

Won't bother the board again with such trivial stuff as a potential exceptional deal....

Jim - don't worry - It sounds like a great deal if someone is looking for that model / type - and there are plenty of folks looking for EXACTLY that - keep the comments coming - that's what makes this board great.

Jim,

No slam intended at all. It's just that without seeing the car, the asking price doesn't tell us much, IMO. If the car is as nice as the owner claims, then it's a fantastic deal, again IMO. Someone here may well be very interested. Bothering us with potential bargains is always welcome.
