Default NEW Numeric Racing Shifter

Hey guys! We are bringing our already proven great designed shifters into the air cooled market. Specifically the 901, 915 and 930 transmissions. Take a dive below to read about what our shifter offers and what makes this shifter a Numeric Shifter.

Features:

Comes With:
-
Numeric Racing Shifter
-Numeric Racing maintenance free shift linkage
-Porsche replacement shift rod bushing
-Porsche replacement shift lever ball socket (Part #: 91142413900)
Everything needed to completely remove all the slop from your shifting. All motion on the shifter is directly transferred to the transmission.

OEM Fitment: A direct swap and fitment from original shifter. Nothing required but a few common use tools.
Self Centering: Dual self centering springs. The shifter is centered automatically in the 3-4 plane (915 transmissions) or 2-3 plane (901 transmissions) or 1-2 plane (930 transmissions). No more spaghetti-like shifting or the shifter bouncing around. Multiple spring sizes gives a variety of side to side tension options based on your preference.
Throw reduction: Throw reduction of up to 40%. Use of a longer shift **** can increase the throw so it is only reduced by 30% if 40% is too much for preference. No more rowing.

Adjustable Reverse Lockout: Does your reverse gear get skimmed even with the stock reverse lockout? Our reverse lockout is adjustable so that it is dialed in perfectly to each car.
All Stainless Steel Hardware: All hardware is stainless steel and all aluminum is anodized. Rust won't be a worry with our shifters. Also, the reverse lockout and the bottom of the shifter is hardened steel for wear resistance.

Ball Bearings on Every Moving Axis: We remove all bushings and clips that hold the stock shifter in place and bare metal to metal contact for pivot with ball bearings. This is how we are able to remove all the play from the shifter and provide precise shifts.

Shift Rod Linkage:
-The ONLY aftermarket shift linkage that is maintenance free that isn't a U-Joint. Buy and install once, it isn't fun to keep adjusting this stock linkage every time you swap the bushings.
-No wear or play that is introduced from wear because we don't use plastic bushings. Any small play in this linkage is translated directly to the shifter, so get rid of the stock.
-Directly replaces OEM shift Linkage.

Some examples of the shifter installed without the shift boot (the stock shift boot can be installed if that is desired also). Also note, the yellow spring holder has been changed to black.

Pre-orders are going to start next week with the retail price at $699.99 and the pre-order sale at $629.99! Keep an eye out on this thread for the link coming soon!

From their post, looks like it comes with:
-Numeric Racing Shifter
-Numeric Racing maintenance free shift linkage
-Porsche replacement shift rod bushing
-Porsche replacement shift lever ball socket (Part #: 91142413900)

How will this compare to the WEVO shifter with PSJ and billet clamp?

My question exactly. High-precision shifting system components are already available on the secondary market that seem functionally comparable. So, the key question is specifically how is the Numeric Racing shifter itself superior to the WEVO racing shifter, for example?

Exactly. Maybe someone from Numeric Racing could weigh in on that.

I’m interested in how it compares to the Stomski paradigm shifter for 915.

Hey guys, great questions!

We are only offering the shift lever that runs similarly to the stock shifter in the direction and height towards the driver. A longer shift **** will be offered soon if a closer to driver style is preferred.

The Shift rod linkage is included, and the two bushing mentioned.

This comes down to the mechanics of the shifter. In short, if you take a look at the Wevo for example, the pivot points use similar mechanics as the stock shifter (a tightened down pin on both axes). Ours offers ball bearings on both the axes, which eliminates any slop and also no play will occur over time either. Our shifter is referred to as the equivalent as your hand reaching into the transmission and shifting the gears directly.

We don't know the mechanics of these shifters, but refer to the comment made above for reference.

We figured if the stock look is desired then the shift boot can be used, keeps the stock look but has that precise feel.

This looks like a very well-executed part with a lot of attention to detail in the design. The pricing seems really good, especially since you get a whole new base instead of re-using the stock base as with the WEVO. On paper, the ball bearing pivots are better, but the pivots on my WEVO function perfectly and offer no detectable slop, so I think that may be more of a theoretical superiority. However, if I was choosing between this and the WEVO today, I would likely buy this based on value for money.

BUT, what I really would have liked is a shifter that has gating at the lever (like the inexpensive Seine). That would have been a real step forward. This is more like an optimization of what WEVO has had on the market for years. Not sure about the Stomski, as I haven't found any specific information on the inner workings, but I think it is likely functionally similar to the WEVO and this unit. I read somewhere that WEVO considered gating at the lever, but ultimately decided to develop their gateshift (internal to the gearbox) approach instead.
