Default Cosmetic upgrades, what would u do?

Thinking of customizing my 911 a little....
Was considering metal door handles, alluminium floorboards and carrera stickers (ala Carrera RS) on the sides.... what do u think?

I've been considering some of the same. Especially the inside door handles. Has anyone gotten the ones that are always on EBAY? They look pretty nice, but who knows.

I've got a Crest center for my Steering wheel and they look great.
Nice shift **** byt the way, I've got the same one.

Sounds like we are going in the same stylistic direction. I'm in the process of doing the black and stainless treatment to my interior.

yup the cover looks worn -- Al would match your pedals

also as an '88 you are not exactly in the ultra-light category so you have some options forclosed to others.

But I would avoid cheap CF look stick ons.

How about some textured door panels?

What sort of look are you aiming for?

What do the seats look like?

My vote would be to put the stock steering wheel and shift **** back on, and not do anything to your car that's not original.

I say do what you want, it's your car and an expression of your personality, you might want to keep the items you replace, so when you sell it the next owner has the stock options. jes1680 asked about the door handles on ebay. I assume you are talking of the billet aluminum handles for about $30. I have a set, I'm happy with them. The old ones were pretty flimsy, these are real solid. By the way were do I find an anodized ignition switch cover?

Just installed aluminum door sills, in black with 911SC etched in block script, brushed aluminum instrument rings on dash, billet aluminum ignition cap, pedals and dead pedal similar to yours. These, combined with the new floor mats and a 4 hour interior detail job make me the proud owner of a great car that is uniquely mine.
That said, I'd do nothing that wouldn't be considered an upgrade, or couldn't easily and inexpensively be returned to it original condition. The next owner (if any) may care.

Anodized ignition switch cover.... Great idea... Where can I get one?
I just installed the Rennline dead pedal... looks great. In terms of weight my car came as basic as an 88 could be (manual seats, manual heating, no rear wiper) and I probaly added 1/4 of a pound with the Rennline Pedals. I think the floorboards will reduce weight...
I love also the idea of the doorsills, but Rennline does not make one with the Carrera logo... we'll see....
Thanks for your imputs

Several around. www.carcrafter.com is the first I came across in the Panorama on my desk.
Got my sills from a guy in Virginia. He manufactures the sill & etches whatever wording you want.

Mine were 77.27 with shipping included. He does them in polished, brushed or, what I chose, negative (black with text in brushed etching).

Good quality stuff & a Porsche guy himself. Good luck.
Tell him Dave in Charlotte recomended him. Nice for folks to know good service pays off.

Hey, your in Charlotte also. Going to Autofair? And, I highly recomend Eurowerks if you need a great, honest and all around good mechanical resource. They're in the book. Jim or Keith.

An alternative to the huge "Carrera" lettering:

I think the floorboards will reduce weight...

-- If serious about this, then it's time to get rid of the bumpers...
