Hello! I wanted to post some info on my recent freshening up of the rear speakers covers/grills on my 1983 911SC. My original speakers cracked and I wanted an OEM replacement. I searched this forum and saw some good reproductions and other options but not much on new Porsche covers. Some posts states they were out of production.
I have seen a lot of marketing and some serious investment by Porsche on Porsche Classic. If these were in fact discontinued, they are definitely back
now.
part: 911-555-019-00 List: $110; I paid $88/each. Yes, pricey but an exact fit and no issues screwing into the vinyl.
screws: 900-145-084-07. List $2/each. Yes, $2 a screw. I paid $1.67. When asked as I was leaving the parts counter if I wanted screws I said yes, figuring how expensive could a screw be?...well, $2/each. They just have flown in first class on Lufthansa. 😀.
all good for the real thing. I figured I’d provide some assistance to the group.
I also added some pics of one of the Porsche Classic books. Real nice stuff. Well put together with plenty of info on virtually all-things Porsche Classic for parts. Even stuff you never thought you would need to freshen.
