Thanks Cloggie. I wish I had read this an hour ago though. I had read it is a 22mm and all an offset wrench is best. So I had ordered that wrench. So yes, mine is o lot busier in there. Take off thing that carpet snaps unto, take off metal bracket, then undo lower hose try to get to switches but can’t and almost give up. Take off upper hose and it’s better and I could get to rear switch and got it off and brake fluid started leaking around. Put it back in. Tried to get the front one off but after thirty minutes gave up. The hard brake line is perfectly positioned to make it impossible to get wrench to turn enough so you can get to the next position on the nut. I am going to order a deep socket but not sure that hard brake line will move out of the way enough to allow it to seat. and yes, it was 22mm and two prong. And yes, now I’ll do anything to get the relay installed so I do t have to do this again! Is the relay simply to reduce the current going through the switch? Thank you for your help and patience!
Yes, PITA is an understatement....now interestingly the switch I used to give you the 15/16ths measurement is a 3 prong one that is going into my project car....I think I have a 2 prong around, I just checked the 2 prong switch I had lying around, it is 22mm hex whereas the 3 prong switches are the 15/16ths (24mm) size....interesting
The relay is in my circuit diagram as per below....note that I am in the midst of totally rewiring my '89 project car and there are modifications that I am making such as the Kahtec flasher on the CHMSL that are definitely not stock. I also have removed the warning light system and replaced it with a 7 light display that shows brake failure as well as brake fluid low, parking brake, pad wear, w. washer fluid low and oil cooler fan on
