964 cams install questions? Should i? and how much?
can cams and valve springs be done with the motor in the car? or is this something that needs to be done on an engine stand.
any reccomendations on a valve spring/retainer package? Are the base circles similar?
finally...what should i budget for the upgrade?
thanks

It CAN be done in the car but I'd really suggest that you pull the motor and do this on a stand.
You need to see what you are doing and be able to check valve spring installed height very carefully.
We've used and sold the Aase springs with our titanium retainers since 1980. The cam's base circles should not change.

steve...thanks...id be interested in a quote on the parts.
the car is a 85 carerra that has been lightened somewhat. it has a chip, ssi's and a 3 inch flowmaster on it.
before the mods it dynoed a baseline of 201 hp at the wheels. what kind of output would you expect witha properly sorted AFR?
thanks.
you can pm with the quote if you like, but there may be others here who would like the price structure as well.
thanks

If you are speaking of a Mass Airflow Sensor, those usually add around 10-12 HP. They will require special software to work correctly.
Aase springs run $ 425/set and our titanium retainers are $ 300/set.
Your cams can be competantly welded and reground for $ 675/pr; half the cost of new cams.
