Default A/C Switch Wire Location -where does it go...?

Hi all,

I'm refreshing my interior and I've removed the center console. In doing so I'll be relocating my A/C controls, but I damaged the A/C temp switch in the process. I have a new one from Pelican but it seems my old switch wire just routes up into the smugglers box and does not 'plug into' anything. Is that correct? Seems very odd to me as I would think it would at least connect to the evaporator. All the images I find on-line just show the wire coiled up in that compartment and not connected to anything.

Any help/pics is greatly appreciated!

thanks--

Jim

It goes right into the evaporator core away from the in/out plumbing. There is supposed to be a small tube lodged in the core about the size of a ball point pen core that the wire slides into. Wire remainder of wire should be carefully curled up without touching anything.
hope that helps.
