A huge part of the stregnth of any piece of metal tubing is the continuity of the shape. If they are bent or crushed, even a little, they are going to be weakened and prone to failure and leakage. It may take a while, but it is a definate risk. I had a customer who experienced the same problem at one of the major discount tire chains. Initially, they didn't mention the damage. Almost immediately the customer did a significant increase in oil temp and brought the car to us. Once we discovered the cause, the customer returned to the tire store. When confronted with our estimate of damage, they asked the tech that put on the tires. He admitted he caused the damage, the estimate was covered by the tire store on the spot. I'd go to the responsible party, do what you can to get the damage paid for, and get the lines fixed properly. Hope you have the same positive results my customer had.

Time to sue his ***. Check for any paint particles on the lines (see if they match his lift or jack).

I would talk to an attorney before you post anything. Someone on this board could know the tire place or someone who works there. If you take legal action against this business and they find out you have posted negative comments about them that include their name, you could be looking at a libel countersuit.

I feel CERTAIN that there is no action against you for stating the facts:

I took my car to xxxx in yyy city. They put it on a lift.

The next time I looked at it, the lines were crushed.

I think they did it.

- Now, any moron can file a law suit (and many do). But just the filing of a suit does not mean it won't be dismissed. Also, if a lawyer files a frivolous one, he may be sanctioned by the Court.
