Default Ignition Stays On

My 1970 911T was starting fine, then the other day when turning the key I got nothing and no clicks when turning fully. Lights came on and battery is good, but then I tried a few more times and when I took the key out the sound of the CD box and ignition stayed on with key turned back to start and out. I had to disconnect power to get it to turn off. Any thoughts? Hoping this isn't the $900 part

... Any ideas? Would changing to an MSD unit possibly fix things?

Going to try and replace the ignition switch to see if that fixes things.
