Default May 20 Wall Street Journal article

I just joined Rennlist yesterday and posted this in the New Member section but am not sure many members saw it. It references a story about our Porsche that ran in yesterday's Wall Street Journal and our search for a pair of long lost longhoods:

Dear Porschephiles,

Maybe you can help us!

We have a 1970 Porsche 914/6 featured in today's Wall Street Journal (page A12) "My Ride" column by A.J. Baime.
You can see it online (link below), but you need a WSJ online subscription to read it:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/reunite...s&page=1&pos=5

It's a story about finding a long lost car, how cars connect us, and the strong emotions they can generate. (We car people know this, of course.)

We are looking for two more long, lost Porsches, both longhoods that originally belonged to Ed McNeilly who ran the Porsche advertising account for Doyle Dane Bernbach:
  • a pale yellow 911 Targa (hard top), late 1960s, likely 1968;
  • a white 1972 911 sunroof coupe.
Of course, the colors may have changed. And, of course, we have no VINs and the current owners may not know the original owner's name (though they may be able to find it). On the other hand, we found Hal, the 1970 914/6, and Rennlist is the right place to look. So, please let us know if you know of a car that might be one of our long, lost 911s. In the meantime, we are having a ball with Hal.
