Hello Porsche forum first time poster
I have a 1990 carrera 2 and when we opened the hood to put a new battery the hood got stuck open as in the hood is still raised open even. I tried wd40 on the hinges but still no luck. If anyone has had this problem before pls help me.

 

Maybe a frozen strut. Did you try an detach either side?

 

Cannot tell from the photos but perhaps someone installed a locking strut. Try raising the hood to release the lock and should close . if not, remove the pin from the strut attaching it to the hood
