Default Interior trunk light not going off?

Hi All,
Anyone had this problem? I had a flat battery because of this! The light in the interior front trunk will not go off. I have had to disconnect it permanently. First I thought it was my alarm installation, but the shop where it was done said no.
Any ideas? I can't work it out!
Cheers,
Justin Warren

I went with a friend to have an alarm installed, the first thing the guy did was to use the light switch as one of the alarm triggers, same thing would have happened to him if we had not been watching through the window and got the guy to correct his mistake, he had to use an additional switch. The light is operated by a plunger type switch in the upper right hand corner near the hinge. if the switch is good and the foot that operates it is ok, it should work, when the switch opens, (lifting hood) it completes the ground circuit that makes the light come on, is the switch has gone bad, it maybe grounding all the time. You should be able to test the switch with a meter to see if it is at fault.
