Default Shock/Strut Change How Long?

I will be swapping my original BOGE strut inserts/rear shocks for Koni units.

About how long should the install take?

I understand you have to remove the airbox to get to the passenger side rear shock.

Thanks.

Took me maybe 2-3h.

Be prepared - the rear bottom bolts can be a bitch. A 2' breaker bar took care of mine. You'll need an impact wrench to get the front top bolts off (maybe do a search, but I fail to see how it would work without one)
You need a 7mm open end to hold on to the top rears - check to see what method koni uses before they're in the car. The fronts are full of oil, which will spill all over the place.

Enjoy,
Stef

One more thing - take out the AFM & airbox as a unit. Much easier. The 4 bolts holding the airbox onto the AFM are a royal pain to get on in the car.

Thanks. I do have impact tools so hopefully it will be a bit easier.

You don't need to remove the Air Boc or other CIS equipment to replace the right rear shock. I replaced mine by leaning into the engine and using a crescent wrench to hold the top of the shock piston to prevent it from rotating with your left hand while reaching around the left side of the engine and then using an open ended wrench to lossen the top nut with your right hand. It takes a while as you can only turn the nut about a quarter of a turn before having to reseat it, but it takes far less time than removing the Airbox.
Good luck.
