Default Which Model to RWB

So Im in the market for an air-cooled 911, with my favorite being the 930.

My plan was to save up for a 930 in the exact condition and specs I want which will be a few years from now. However, one thing I really want to do is put an RWB widebody kit on it and install a bigger turbo.

Seeing as I want to do these two things regardless, would I be better off buying a 911 SC? From what I understand, the only difference between a 911 SC and a 930 is the engine and wider fenders, things I will be replacing anyways. Are there any other differences between the two in the frames? Will all the 930 parts fit on an SC? I know many of you guys hate seeing classic Porsches cut up as well, so I was thinking if I'm gonna cut up a car I might as well cut up one that's less rare.

The tub is the same. Most everything else is different - front struts (unless you get an SC with Bilsteins), rear trailing arms, brake calipers, brake rotors, master cylinder, gearbox, rear axles, sway bars, torsion bars, tie rods. Plus engines are not cheap.

You could buy all these parts and yes they would fit on the SC tub. But if you are paying someone to do all that work, it would be cheaper to buy the Turbo. Probably cheaper even if you did it all yourself.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you have a lot of research to do. The Turbos are pretty unique cars and not everyone's cup of tea. It may not be yours either.

not to mention the initial cost of a turbo ( easily North of 100K ) vs an SC ( 20 -30 for one you are going to modify anyway ).

I have a buddy who did an RWB on a 964, looked pretty cool. Those things are butt ugly anyway IMO so not a great loss.
