leak through footwell of 3.2
Hello all
I have an annoying water leak through the ventilation outlets in the footwell of my 1987 3.2.
Is the water getting in through the external air intake on the hood then into the airbox? If so why is it leaking into the vent as the drain tube that runs through the cabin should carry this water away...
Or possibly is it through the windcreen seals?? Can't see this being the problem though.....
There is no visable sign of water in the luggage compartment
I haven't yet tried the process of elimination......Rennlist first!!
Cheers
James

James,
It's not unusual for the front windscreen seal to allow water in, typically in the corners. Also, have had footwell water from an absolutely horrendous monsoon where it came in through the front air intake on top of the front hood. Removed the black grill and found some gaps between the plastic intake and body that silicone sealant fixed.

When checking for the source of the water remember the 'tub' has no firewall -- thus water entering through or around any hood seals or vents can find its way into the passenger compartment.

Thanks Chaps.
Good point Paul but there is no sign of water in the luggage compartment so hood seal in working fine......
The air outlet in the footwell is 'sealed' and the water is only coming in via the vent tube....
Bill, can the water still finds it's way into the airbox through the windscreen seal??
Cheers for the hints
