When I got my '85 in 1996, I got (at least) the 5th key from the left in Cobalt's photo. I believe that is the OE master key.

Whether I also got them upon purchase or bought more myself later, I have some PORSCHE-branded keys just like in the upper left corner of post #1. I do believe that a red version of that latter key was the valet key, which would not work the glove box or trunk lock.

So those three are the OE Porsche keys I'm aware of:
1. Pewter Porsche-crested, weak-azz incandescent bulbed, master key (not a colored crest)
2. Simpler, cheaper, black, open-headed, PORSCHE-branded key
3. Red version of 2, valet key, not working on trunk or glove box locks.

Aftermarket, you could get full metal Ilco keys at any hardware store.

IIRC the 944 key was different I also had one for my 944 S2 that was an inverted version of the black key early style, so the round head might have been from a 914.

AFAIK the SC's forward and it could have been earlier as well had the black key similar to the one you posted. These also came with a red key that was a valet key that would only open the doors. I have a bunch of NOS black and red keys floating around someplace I never had cut. I believe at some point during the 3.2 G bodies they switched to the newer style key with either colored or silver crest and light as pictured. BTW all the blanks are the same and the metal key is a standard US lock or other company that sells blanks. The later keys had a detachable head from the metal part that could be cut and the head can be used on either the 928 or 911. Although the key blanks for the 928 were much more secure and had a different mechanism. I would assume the 968 received it as well. There are also small tops that can be purchased for spare keys to be hidden if you wanted as pictured on the far right. FYI the metal tab on the last key from the right was a tag code used to identify the key cut and was also supplied with new cars. I am sure there is more I forgot or am incorrect about but this is what i recall.

All 911 blades are the same from 1970 to 1998, as are all water cooled blades from 1977 to 1993. The 2nd key is aftermarket as well as the 3rd

I was, until you brought up the 2010, so felt need to research and answer. lol

Great spread and love the 911 car keychain! Seriously about the theft?! That's hard core! lol
I remember the red keys and during the valet theft scene in "No Mans Land", sheen had a ton of keys on them, which were red and black.

You mean 5th from the "right"?

Early key heads (up to mid 1980's) didnt have the crest, just PORSCHE on them, the blade was bonded/molded into the head and wasnt removavble

I stand corrected the second key from the left I posted is not the OE key. The key I posted has the correct shape for the red key. It has been a while since I used early keys all my 964's came with the later key with light and crest.

So these are the OE blanks I purchased these back in the 80's to replace some of my SC keys that went missing. These are marked Porsche and I know are the correct key for that period.

No, 5th from the left was what I meant. The one with a crest that could be painted, but is not.
2nd from left in that photo is an aftermarket version of the one in the upper left of post #1's pic.

Confirming that I still believe in everything I said above.

Gotcha, closer look, that key looks like my OEM, but lacks "PORSCHE" embossed in the plastic.

^ Cobalt.....Thank you!!

I have the correct keys for my 94 Turbo like you.
But what would be the correct key for a 72 911S? I have 2 keys and they look very much like the Second from Left labeled "Early 911". Is that correct? (I have had my car for 20+ years)
