I was poking around at the car tonight, trying to figure out the
cause of the occasional clunk I hear from the front. The sound
is kind of high-pitched, and may have been loose tools in the
trunk.
Or not.
A couple days ago, I thought the f/l tire looked a little over-cambered,
but the car was parked on a small rise, so I figured it was the angle
in which it was setting. Tonight I looked at it closer, and I think I
have an 'issue'

For S&G, I played with the alignment adjustments on the top of
the shock. I brought it all the way out to the edge of the adjustment
hole, which is where you see it now; yes, I had more negative camber
than that!
For reference, Friday afternoon on the way home from work, I hit a chunk
of metal laying in the road - no way to avoid it - at about 25-35 MPH.
I don't have any shimmies or shakes. There's been a slight pull to the right
when driving in a straight line, but it's been doing that since the previous
failed alignment.
There is no play in the wheel at all, and the boot around the ball joint is intact.
I did a cheepie runout test of thewheel, using a screwdrive setting on a milk
crate, while turning the car while it's in the air, and there's no discernable
wobble.
So, what do you guys think needs replacing?
I already had my re-alignment scheduled for tomorrow - should I just cancel,
or should I have the shop see what they can do?
Thanks!

Sounds like it's time to upgrade to a 935 suspension!!
I feel for you Thom, I would love to buy you a beer one day and hear your Porsche experience first hand.
Best of luck
Chris

I've seen the aftermarket setups like TRG and others make, and it looks cool, but I'm afraid it would be even more fragile for street use!

Thanks! I look at is as learning to build a 911 from scratch. Maybe one day when I get all these little issues dealt with, I'll start on that 3.8L monster motor...
