Default 4000 rpm

Hey guys,
My car has a rebuilt transmission , today it popped out of 1st twice at 4000 RPM .
It was rebuilt at 107000 in 2000,it now has 114000 miles in 2004. The car always shifted fine up until today. It has the factory short shift and is an 84 carrera cabriolet. Any ideas what is causing this?
Thanks in advance
Mducharme.

Did they replace the operating sleeves or just the synchros on the rebuild?

Hey Dave,
Here's the list, shift coupling, 2nd gear set ,2 sleeves , 3 syncro's, 2 energizers, 2 sliders, double brake band, ring , clutch kit, short shift kit, pilot bearing, fly wheel seal,
Also ,it engages in all gears without any grinding, it just pops out of first.
Got any recommendations . Figures its going to be a warm weekend.
Thanks in advance M ducharme

Make sure all the bushings are in good shape and the linkage is properly adjusted. Change your gearbox oil , perhaps try Swepco . If that doesn't work the gearbox is definitely suspect.
