KNN filter/rpm/shifting trouble
I installed my KNN filter last night into my Porsche 911. I definately noticed a change in the sound and the pick up right away. As a matter of fact, I think the change in the sound threw off my timing as to when to change gears. However, I did notice one sound that I am a little concerned about and was hoping someone might have some advice. I noticed that at a low rpm, it sounded like there was knocking and pinging in the engine, like it was struggling to get going, no power. For example, I came upon a sharp curve, downshifted from third to second, the rpm probably dropped to about 2300-2500, I stepped on the gas and the pick-up wasn't there and it started lugging a little. At 3500 rpm, stepping on the gas feels like you're driving a turbo, but down low like that, I am wondering what I should do. Perhaps I put it in incorrectly and it's not seated properly or maybe the sound is just throwing my timing off when shifting.

Do 911's have a similar air flow meter design to the 944?
If so...thats my vote because my car exhibited very similar behavior when the AFM was on its way out/dead.
