I want to replace my CHT for preventive maintenance. I can only find 266 dollar Porsche parts. Anything else out there?

You probably wont even find any Porsche ones (in the UK anyway) they are factory backorder with no ETA

Default I had mine replaced recently. I checked all over. The best price (& in stock)...

Was at Partsgeek.com $246 plus tax and ship (could be free). The cheapest was at Gaudin $210 and Sunset at $213, but each had long lead times since the part was in Germany. The 2 wire version is preferred. Make sure that yours can accommodate that version.

There's a BMW sensor that is a direct fit for less than half that P-car MSRP, search Bosch 0-280-130-070. It's $96 on Pelican.

It really isn't that type of item. Either it works or it doesn't and an ohm meter is a lot cheaper telling you all you need to know.
