Duck Tails..? What years.
Won’t lie, I love em. But, what years were they options or stock? As I now hunt for a 78-89 I notice a couple SCs with them. I know the early 70s had them, but where they an option or a mod for a SC or G body 84-89?

Here's the standard whale tail on a '74 Carrera
Here's the long IROC race version w/ small cooling slot, the small slot was also used on some the above short versions
and here's the shorter street version w/ small slot
Here's an early 930 whale w/ large slot for AC
and lastly the P/U version
The above were used on SCs and not to be confused w/ the later 3.2 Carrera version

Duck tails were only oe or factory options in '73 and early '74 , TüV banned them sometime in '74(The early '74 IROC cars were delivered w/ ducks which were swapped for whales before the first race) which was when the early whales were introduced, by the time SCs were introduced either an early whale( there were 3 different versions), PU whale or turbo Tea Tray were only factory options
