One needs to remember that what works on one car may not work on another "identical" car. This is the nature of these cars. Also, tire widths vary (more than I ever imagined) between models with the same nominal size. Measured at the tread, my Bridgestone RE730's were almost an inch wider than my Bridgestone S-03's even though both were 245/45x16.
On a related note, be careful when you switch tires. I've seen quite a few oil lines rubbed, even rubbed through, when people switched tires, say to Hoosiers from something like old R1's. You folks manning Tech lines should look for this. Seeing braided oil lines rubbed through makes you appreciate the factory lines...

i have 18 rims on and 83 cab and did not do a thing. ck out the hoses and had minor rub on the metal section. dropped a turbo motor in and had to replace the line with a ruber one. then i used 1/4 spacers for the rear and works great. all u should have to do is get the spacers and u should be fine. about $20.00 for the spacers.
