Default New to me 1974 911 with a couple questions

Hello everyone. First time posting in this section of RL. I have owned several modern 911's and recently a couple 993's. A few weeks ago I purchased a 1974 911. Its a great little car, but I am new to this era of Porsches. It has a rebuilt Euro spec 3.0 SC engine, rebuilt 915 transmission/clutch, rebuilt suspension, and recently redone interior. The car was originally brown, but had a great color change to Dove Gray, which looks fantastic. The car has the original 15" Fuchs which look pretty good, but I am considering upgrading the wheels as I need to get new tires.

I have done searches on RL and Pelican regarding different Fuchs and Fuchs reproduction, in particular the Linea Corse Fox wheels by Rota. Does anyone know if these 17" wheels will fit my 1974? Is there any dimensional difference between my body and an SC body that would prevent me from running them? It looks like they should fit SC's/Carrera's fine, but I am not sure about earlier 911's. I know they are a cast wheel and not a fancy forged wheel.

Also, does anyone have any thoughts on replacement seats? My car has some black 993 seats in it, but I am leaning towards some "Vintage Seats" or "GTS Classic Seats"?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Holy smokes, brother. That garage.....

And the color on that car - spot on. I love it.

Stefan does an xlnt. job - you will need to do a test sit to find which is right for you.

I would not eff with the wheels - you can get more stick but you lose the great light steering feel (turn in) and your '74 is nearly as good as an early car for that.

You already have a maximum stick vehicle for that too.

If you just want to mod your '74 think about a way to get a nice look in rear w/o the big bumpers, and substitute Euro crush tubes for the heavy shocks on the R. bumper.

Nice stable.

You know what you like, so you should go with what you like. That being said, your car looks great with the 15s. If you want more performance, you have it in the cars on either side.

Darned good advice here!!

Installing larger wheels & tires truly slows these cars down due to gearing and MOI changes. The light feel and quickness disappear!!

I would keep the 15's and look for a set of factory Fuchs (these are the lightest ones) in either 6x15 or 7x15 and choose a sticky tire.

I hope they installed a front oil cooler when they installed that 3.0 engine.

Thank you guys for all of the great recommendations and nice comments. I appreciate it!

Yeah, I am going to keep the 15's and keep the exterior largely stock. I plan to replace the front seats soon and will post pics once done.

Thanks again!
