Hello,
I just purchased a 1970 911T. I'm very excited as I have wanted an early model 911 all my life. It is a bit of a project car, but I am looking forward to the process. By the VIN number it is a "Karmen" built car. Does anyone know what that means to the value of the car. I realize I didn't get the E or S, but I'm happy!. I don't have a need for speed, just for owning a nice little Porsche! Also, it has been repainted silver and I would like to know where I can get original paint color samples to look at. I know it was light blue originally.
Thanks for the help, Julia

being a Karmann built car shouldnt reduce the value really. more early 911s (at least in the 60s) were built at the Karmann karosorie than in the porsche factory, and although having a porsche factory is a bit more rare, there arent any downfalls anything that makes a karmann built car any less a car than a factory built car.
try the 911 registry sites for the 911T registry, 911E registry, early 911S registry.. etc. theres bound to be some color samples there. if not, you can try the 912 registry, as 912s from the 60s had the same paints more or less (and i know for a fact the 912registry.org has the paint samples and codes online).
