I want the amber euro tail light lenses. I see these on eBay all the time and they seem readily available. But a guy at the Porsche factory spare parts store told me the euro lenses don't work with the US models. He said there was a difference in bulb placement between the two and that the euro lenses, while they would probably screw onto the US assemblies, are not allowed here and would not function properly. Does anyone know about this? I'm sure I've seen 911's here with the euro lenses. Can I get away with just buying the lenses, or do I have to buy euro assemblies as well? Thanks.

I installed a pair of rear plastic lenses (not the entire lense assembly) on my 81SC, and they fit just fine, worked just fine.

Switched to "euro" tail lenses a couple of years ago (bought mine from AJ-USA), they look great! No problems that I know of.
