Las Vegas
Howdy guys.
Looks like I'll be moving to Las Vegas area in mid July . Since I have a 996 and a 77 wide body hot rod I'll be looking for a good indie that can take care of both cars. Any recommendations would be appreciated. If it matters I'll be located on the west side of town.

Welcome to Clark County!
There are three really great IRF's out here; two of which would be well versed in your two cars. However, the only local dealership Gaudin Porsche, employ's Frank Collins. Originally of Chicago and formally of 9Haus in Sarasota FL, Frank is easily one of the preeminent air-cooled guru's left in the in the US. Perhaps when you arrive to town I can offer you a full tour of our 43k sq ft facility and introduce you to Frank. I will also give you the names of the other IRF's and tell you who to ask for so you can meet them for your self. We are a small but passionate Classic Porsche community out here. Year round driving if you can take the heat!

I moved here back in February and bought a nice 87 944 S that needs to be put back together. Getting ready to reassemble the original motor. I need to have the components checked out including the alusil block and possibly have some light machining done. Could you recommend a local independent shop for this? Thanks.

+1 for Carl's Place, used to service my 996 Turbo. Tony is a great guy and does good work.
