Default Sunroof doesn’t close fully

I noticed today that my sunroof doesn’t close because the black plastic visor on the left side doesn’t fully go down to allow the sunroof to close. The circled portion of the attached pic is the section that doesn’t clear and therefore renders the sunroof stuck.

Is this an easy fix? Where should I start?

thanks.

My mechanic had my sunroof inner panel out recently to reglue headliner which was sagging down... I was there and helped him remove it. He said "make sure you watch the plastic clips and do not break them as they are expensive". So I would believe that is the place to start on repair. Maybe links here or on Pelican Parts as to how to fix. Car looks gorgeous BTW.

The wind deflector hinge has broken. The broken parts of this are actually visible in the pic. The part is not expensive ($9.75 at Pelican) but it is a little tricky making sure the spring is properly fitted to get the required load on the new hinge to push it up when the sunroof opens. A way to get the sunroof fully closed is to gently push down on the offending corner of the wind deflector with something like a paint stirring stick while a helper incrementally closes the sunroof. Once the edge of the sunroof is over the wind deflector you can pull the paint stick away and fully close the roof. Then you can still drive your car until the parts arrive.

Thanks Brewmeister! That’s exactly what I’ve been doing to close the roof. Manually pressing the visor allows it to close easily.

Which specific part is broken? The long piece slanting upward with the spring attached? I tried to compare both sides to see if I could figure it out but I couldn’t.

thanks again!

Yes, the piece with the spring attached. Other bits of this broken piece can be seen at about 5 o'clock of your sketched circle.
