Default Grill Badge Placement

Is there a "proper" location for the grille badge on the early cars??

I have a 2.7 badge I'll install. Its a sticky tape one note a bolt one...

Is this "right"?

Not that I care too much... which is why I'm asking here and not on Early911 where it may turn into a 30 page debate :-)

looks great right there if you ask me ...

are you concerned at all with it becoming " unstuck" with the heat from the engine and/or sun ?

Ironically a thread on Pelican from someone else just got posted... seems to be some debate so, I'll just go back to what I was going to do and put it where it looks best.

Unstuck? I don't know. I have some 3m ceramic double sided tape that is designed for this sort of application. Its held the gurney lip on my 997RS at 150MPH and lots of sun and heat.

We shall see! :-)

What year is your car? The plastic engine grills began in 1975 I believe. Anodized aluminum before then. 2.7 placement look correct.

there must be a factory car, unmolested somewhere that has the grill badge in factory placement mode and can be measured to the exact mm. specs.

I bought my 3.2 badge from Patrick Motorsports when it was on sale. It's held in place with 2 long bolts that feed thru the grill. The guys over at car-bone.pl also make some great products too. Your choice - can't go wrong with either.

Patrick Motorsport badges

Car-bone.pl badges

I'll post a picture of my badge when I get a chance

Here are some pics of the badge on the grill, its size, and how it's attached.
