Default Tire Purchase Decision

I need new tires for my 2006 911 4S Cab. A dealer told me that I should buy Hankook Ventus V12 tires instead of the Michelins I currently run. Does anyone have experience with the Hankook Ventus V12 tires? Thanks for the advice.

Can't imagine a scenario where you'd buy hankook over Michelin for a modern Porsche. Sometimes a dealer or shop just wants to offload inventory.

Michelin PS 4S are the best tires for sports cars.

Subjective at best. I would have said Bridgestone. Michelin for sure in 1996 - 2001.

I have had two sets of the V12 Hankooks. I bought one set for a corvette. My 88 911 was riding on a set when I took delivery. I would not buy another set.

Just my opinion.... nothing more.

Could be subjective, but they also have the highest user ratings on tire rack and are also named / rated the best by multiple 3rd party testers in multiple controlled conditions. I know my new ps4s have a substantially better ride, grip and noise level compared to the P zeros they replaced on my 991 GTS which are Porsche's spec.

I have the Michelin PS4S on my Audi S3 and have over 20K on them so far and love them. Nice riding, quiet tire with good handling. I would have put them on my Carrera 4S but they were not available at the time.
